It’s essential for us to conduct our study activities as planned, which means there may be times when staff need to complete an assessment, even if you have a scheduled activity like private prayer or a call.
- Privacy: Your room door will remain unlocked for medical staff access, but they will always knock before entering. There are no cameras in your room or bathroom.
- Room Access: Facility doors are secure and only accessible to authorised personnel. Visitors and other volunteers cannot enter your room.
- Communication: Use the nurse call bell system for assistance. Contact details for kitchen staff will also be provided.
- Assessments: Be prepared for medical assessments, including blood samples and ECGs, which may require clothing adjustments.
- Windows: Each room has at least one internal-facing window, with some offering external views. Rooms are allocated randomly, and volunteers cannot switch rooms once assigned. Rooms with internal views feature a large natural mural on the wall.
- Room Cleaning: Fresh bed linen and towels are available on request, but you will need to change them yourself. Used bedding should be placed in the provided water-soluble laundry bags. While routine cleaning is not possible due to trial restrictions, we will clean areas if there is a clear need. You are unable to bring your own cleaning supplies.
Note: Rooms need to be kept tidy at all times to enable the clinical teams to complete their work effectively.
- Exercise: Light stretching or yoga is permitted. You cannot complete any other forms of exercise. Bring a yoga mat if desired.
- Work: You can work during your stay, but study activities will take priority.
